The Iberostar portfolio is one of my my favourites across Mexico and the Caribbean. The kids are never bored, with incredible kids programs, spaces and activities. Rooms are spacious, and for larger families, connecting rooms are available upon request.

Why families love it: On the smaller side, and situated on a private cove, this all-inclusive resort seamlessly blends natural beauty with family-friendly amenities. This is one of the most booked family resorts in Puerto Vallarta!

Why families love it: Part of the expansive Barceló complex, the Palace section is the most upscale and ideal for families. For snorkelers, this is the best property out of the rest of the Barcelos - it's also the option that books out the fastest!

25-Years Worth of Booking Wisdom...
Request connecting rooms early: Many resorts don’t allow you to reserve them online. Work with a travel advisor (LIKE ME) who can secure or book them on your behalf.
Look for “Kids Stay Free” promotions: These are often available during non-peak dates, throughout the year for Canadian travellers
Pick resorts close to the airport: Especially important for young kids after a long flight.
Book private transfers: If you're not a fan of long bus rides with strangers and multiple stops, you may want to consider paying a little extra for a private transfer.
Book EARLY: Mexico saw an 18% increase in visitors this past year, so if you think you're going to snap up some hot last minute deal at a great, family-focused resort with exceptional amenities, you're going to be very disappointed.
